i have the brain shit. per my last pro diagnosis, it's anxiety, depression, and schizoaffective disorder. i also suspect some kind of developmental disorder but i couldn't tell you which one.

i'm not going to police what slurs you can or can't reclaim, but using a slur that applies to you as an insult to someone else isn't reclaiming it, it's just calling somebody a slur.

my stance on the q-word discourse is "you can reclaim whatever terms you want but don't coercively assign them to other people"; i know that some people need it tagged (understandably) and others don't want their identity tagged as a slur (also understandably) so i tag posts that use it as "reclaimed queer" on tumblr. i do not use it in my own posts.
